Pros:

  • This bike roller is very easy to set up.
  • It has great front wheel support.
  • The parabolic rollers make riding smoother and easier.
  • It is perfect for beginners and pros alike.

Cons:

  • The frame is plastic so it could be a little more durable.

The Tacx Antares Roller Review

Number 1 on our list of the best cycle rollers is the Tacx Antares Roller. When we first received the roller, we were a little surprised to see that the roller is plastic. Of course, this does have durability issues, but we still wanted to give the roller a thorough test.

The first thing that struck us was how easy the roller is to set up. It only took us a matter of minutes to set up everything and get the bike mounted. We immediately noticed how good the front wheel support is.

Once we had the bike mounted, it was time to test the roller out. One thing that really impressed us was how smooth and easy the ride was. This was thanks to the parabolic rollers. What we really liked about this cycle roller was that it is perfect for beginners and experts alike so we would definitely recommend it.

2. Minoura FG540 Magnetic Hybrid Roller Review

Features: 80mm Roller Diameter – Aluminium – Foldable – 62.2 x 28.6 x 31.1 cm – 998g

Pros:

  • Very easy initial set up.
  • Much more realistic road feel than a lot of other models.
  • Very quiet when in use.
  • 7 levels of resistance to choose from.
  • The rollers protect the tyres from wear.

Cons:

  • This cycle roller can take some getting used to.

The Minoura FG540 Magnetic Hybrid Roller Review

Next on our list of the best cycle rollers is the Minoura FG540 Magnetic Hybrid Roller. We chose to test out this model because it is a little different to most of the others that we have tested in the past and we definitely were not disappointed.

First of all, the initial set up process was incredibly easy. It only took us a matter of minutes before we were ready to test the rollers out. Once we had the bike mounted, the first thing that we noticed was how much more realistic the road feel is in comparison to a lot of the other models that we have tested.

We were also really surprised by how quiet this cycle roller is when it is being used; even at higher resistance levels. There are 7 levels of resistance with this cycle roller, so we were really able to vary the intensity of the training regime.

A final plus point with this one is that the rollers protect the bike tyres from wear. The only downside with this one is that it does take some getting used to, but this doesn’t take long either.

3. HOMCOM Foldable Bike Trainer Review

Features: 44mm Roller Diameter – Aluminium – Foldable – 97 x 16 x 57 cm – 8.5kg

Pros:

  • Very easy assembly and initial set up.
  • Very simple to mount and dismount the bike.
  • This cycle roller is very quiet.
  • It offers great value for money.

Cons:

  • The resistance could be better.

HOMCOM Foldable Bike Trainer Review

Last on our list of the best cycle rollers goes to the HOMCOM Foldable Bike Trainer. We chose to test and review this model because of the great value for money that it offers. The first thing to do was assemble the rollers which, fortunately, was incredibly simple.

Once we had done this, it was time to set everything up. Mounting and dismounting the bicycle is incredibly easy and this is definitely a huge plus point. We were now ready to test out the cycle roller in full.

The first thing that we noticed was how quiet the rollers are. They were virtually silent. The only downside with this one is that the resistance levels could be a little better. However, for the price that you can expect to pay, this is fairly good for a budget trainer.

We hope that you are now able to choose the best cycle roller for your needs and our reviews have helped you to do so.
